National institute of open schooling (NIOS) is the largest open schooling board in the world. Student who had discontinued their studies or who had failed in class 10 or class 12 final examination, can complete their studies from NIOS.

Certificate issued by NIOS is recognised by UGC,Association of Indian Universities, Pharmacy council of India, Medical council of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development and Other state Board.

For academic course class 10 and class 12, Student can take online admission in NIOS stream -1 ( Block-1 & Block-2)

Student taking admission for NIOS stream-1 (Block-1) academic course class 10 or class 12 can appear in March-April Exam.

Student taking admission for NIOS stream-1 (Block-2) academic course class 10 or class 12 can appear first time in October-November Exam.

Important Date for online admission in NIOS class 10 and class 12.

Stream 1 (Block 1): Last date of online admission is 31st July without any fine.
1st August to 15th August with late fine Rs 200

Stream 1 (Block 2): Last date of online admission 31st January without any fine.
1st February to 15th February with late fine Rs 200
16th February to 28th February with late fine Rs 400
1st March to 15th March with late fine Rs 700

Last Date of online admission in NIOS for Secondary(Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) for April-May-2021 public exam is 31st October 2020 without any fine.

How many subjects can a student take in NIOS secondary and Senior Secondary course?

A student a can take minimum of 5 subject and maximum of 7 subjects.

Can a NIOS pass out student take college admission?

Yes. Certificate issued by National Institute of Open Schooling is recognised as par with Other state Board , ICSE and CBSE for college admission.

Is TMA compulsory ?

TMA is applicable for learner taking admission under Stream -1. Although it is not compulsory to submit Assignment (TMA) but a learner should treat is compulsory as a learning exercise.
