Amid outbreak of COVID19, Department of Higher Education West Bengal has issued advisory to all State aided University to promote the final year/semester general students of UG and PG on the basis of previous year/ semester result. According to advisory issued by DHE (WB), the general degree student of under graduate (UG) and Post Graduate (PG) course of Calcutta University and other universities in West Bengal will be evaluated on the basis of the best percentage aggregate obtain by the candidate in any of the previous semester/year result. 80% weightage will be considered on the basis of the best percentage aggregate of previous semester/ year exam and 20% weightage on internal assessment during the current year/ semester.
Calcutta University will also give an opportunity to those students who wish to take formal examination instead of above alternate evaluation. For appearing at formal examination the student will have to apply through a process that will be notified by the University later.
The student pursuing professional courses like Engineering, Law, Management, Pharmacy ,teacher training and other professional course will also evaluated on the above pattern.
All the other intermediate semester /year student of Under graduate and Post graduate will be promoted to next higher semester/ year without examination according notice .
