National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) is the world’s largest open board. NIOS offers many academic and vocational courses. Anyone who has discontinued study failed in regular board or working people can complete schooling (Class 10/12th) by taking admission in NIOS. NIOS admission in stream-2
NIOS admission in-stream -2 (Secondary/Secondary) is for those students who have already passed class 10 or class 12 from recognised board and want to take part admission in one subject or up to 4 subjects for enhancing knowledge. Also, students who have failed in class 10 or class 12 from a recognised board, can appear at class 10 or class 12 exam from NIOS by taking admission in-stream -2. Generally, admission in this stream starts after the publication of class 10/12 results of the state and central boards. Students taking admission under this stream, appear in October-November NIOs public exam.

What is the last date for admission in NIOS stream 2?
Admission is open from 1st May to 31st July 2020.

Who can take admission in NIOS stream -2 for Public exam October 2020 ?
All the unsuccessful students of secondary( class 10) and senior secondary (class 12) from recognized boards can take admission. Also, the students who have already passed secondary or senior secondary courses from any recognized board can take admission in NIOS stream 2, up to 4 subjects.

Is submission of TMA applicable for learner seeking admission under stream -2?
No, a student taking admission under NIOS stream -2 Public exam October 2020 do not have to submit TMA.

No, NIOS will not provide Study materials to stream -2 student.

Do Student taking admission in NIOS stream-2 have to pay examination fee separately?
A student taking admission in NIOS stream-2 has to pay all fee including examination fee, TOC fee at the time of admission.

What is TOC? How can a student avail TOC?
TOC means the transfer of credit. Students who have passed in the subject securing 33% mark from recognized board in the last five year and the subject is also offered by NIOS scheme of study. The student will have the option to get TOC in a maximum of 2 subjects only. For availing TOC Student has to submit his/her original failed marked sheet mentioning reference/enrollment number along with admission form to the respective regional center.

What documents are required for NIOS admission in stream-2?
For taking admission in the secondary course, the student has to upload a scanned copy of the Birth proof, address proof, coloured photo, signature, and failed marked sheet or admit card.
For Senior secondary course documents required are Pass certificate of class 10, Mark Sheet of class 10, admit card of class 10 and failed mark sheet or admit card of class 12, coloured photo and signature -

Colour passport size photo.
Address proof.
Class 10 failed certificate for the secondary course. Or
Class 12 failed certificate for the senior secondary course.

What is the admission fee for NIOS stream 2?
The fee under NIOS stream 2 (Secondary/Senior Secondary) is
Registration Fee: Rs480.
Exam Fee: Rs 250 per theory subjects & additional Rs 120 for practical subjects
TOC Fee: Rs 180 per subject
Change of subjects/additional subjects: Rs 720 per subject.
